Under the system's beautiful look
Lies a broken gear
It just lies on the ground away from the others
But is it needed just the same?
How can the system function with a missing gear?

It leads one to believe that the system cannot function.
Or if it appears to work, then it isn't working fully.
For if we are the sum of our parts,
And a part disappears;
Then our sum differs from the right answer.
The whole equation breaks down.

I'm inclined to say that if humans run systems,
and no one is perfect,
Then no system is perfect.

Why do we have systems? Do they make our lives easier?
I don't see how the systems in place will last for much longer.
All systems will fail. Even our own organic system will fail,
And we will perish.

So why should we fight for a system doomed to nonexistence?
Are we fighting for our children?

Is my pessimism too much?
Is my optimism not enough?
Should I just subscribe to the systems at hand;
Or should I work from the inside to change them?
What change am I working for?
Who am I trying to save?

Cynicism has taken ahold of my soul.
I am unsure of everything.
I can't focus.
I can't see the reason for anything,
besides bettering myself.
But what change am I working for?
Why do I seek to better myself?

I guess that the goal of bettering myself
Remains a goal.
If I am not striving to better myself,
Then I will remain stagnant, or digress;
Both of which sound worse than the first goal.

So it remains as a goal whose primary reason
is to combat digression or plateaus.

Time isn't about to bend for intentions

Exhaustion seeps in like a bucket of water
Trying to extinguish the flame of my mind
But I will take my time
I'm not ready for the dream world
Not today

The list of things to do just keeps piling up
I can't make my life shut up
Its true that the world keeps spinnin
But I'm not cool with the pace
Give me time, give me grace
I'm doing the best I can in this place!

I want to put forth my best effort
But time isn't about to bend for intentions
I have to do it fast no matter the representation

Because time is not on our side
No place to hide, no kids to cry, don't live don't die,
Don't fly high, ride the tide, individualize, live a lie.
All you're allowed are thoughts of suicide.

And all I wanted was for clocks to cease
To end their endless rant, each little beast
So shut the hell up, just give me some peace.

I can't stop wondering about the future
I can't stop picturing what its like
Is their still poor, still war, famine and strife?
Or will we figure this out: what is life?

Will their be darkness
Will their be nothing
Dead or alive?
Organic or synthesized?
I can't justify this compromise!

All I see is everyone dead!
Will it end?

awaiting the full extent of my punishment
I wonder what I did that caused all of this?

Was I too mean, or is it just my turn?
When will I learn?

I ask myself these rhetorical questions
Constantly aware of chance
and the dichotomy of mystics and logics

It seems so mystical
But logic always wins.

Or does it?

How much can we attribute to mysticism?
And in what ways is mysticism valid?

Questions progress
Rarely answered.
Human curiosity cease!
Call off your guards!
Let us be content.
